Hong Kong-born and bred sandwich brand HAND3AG is set to open its doors at Tsim Sha Tsui K11 Art Mall on May 10. An all-new light-meal concept, the restaurant will serve up innovative ingredients and recipes in a convenient, comfortable and stylish setting.
HAND3AG’s overall concept illustrates the boundlessness of the imagination. The restaurant’s white colour scheme is inspired by the three primary colours of light and infinite pixels. The interior design, staff uniform and food packaging are developed from the pixel concept while diversified combinations and arrangements reflect the rich assortment of sandwiches available on the menu. Just as different pixel combinations represent endless number of possibilities, HAND3AG’s teppanyaki sandwiches are boundless in their creativity. For example, although bread is a common and basic food, the HAND3AG team combines it with globally sourced ingredients, stylish packaging and other cutting-edge elements to create a kaleidoscopic series of teppanyaki sandwiches that takes the daily food to all new heights.
HAND3AG’s teppanyaki sandwiches are prepared with a special technique. First, an oil base is made with the golden ratio of margarine and olive oil and is used on a teppan grill to lightly toast the bread until it becomes crisp and golden-brown. Ingredients are then added alongside a selection of homemade secret sauce that match perfectly with the sandwiches. The whole process takes only 15 minutes to serve hot-off-the-grill sandwiches to customers.
Continental Iron House is the must-try signature sandwich – a fun and imaginative conception from a European prison meal that showcases the chef’s creativity and extraordinary culinary skills. The filling includes Provencal meatballs in ratatouille with tomato sauce and assorted vegetables. This is paired with rose-cheese macaroni in a tailor-made tomato sauce, local hydroponic crystal lettuce, a pan-fried egg with a runny yolk, and a lava cheese mixed with cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. This full-bodied creation is sweet, salty and sour all in one, and is served with a rich gravy that makes it more irresistible.
Another highlight is the Japanese-Style Barbecue Pork Ramen. Inspired by yakisoba pan –hotdog buns filled with stir-fried noodles – HAND3AG’s culinary team managed to recreate the flavours and elements of a bowl of ramen in sandwich form. These include homemade Japanese-style barbecue pork, 48-hour seasoned soft-boiled egg as well as bamboo shoots and buttered corn. To further elevate the sandwich, HAND3AG’s head chef adds mayonnaise with Nishikyo miso to enrich the flavour.
HAND3AG also has a variety of teppanyaki breakfast sandwiches, such as the Morning Sicily. An appetizing creation to indulge the tastebuds, the sandwiches are filled with a refreshing eggplant caponata as well as vegetables omelet, hash brown and mozzarella cheese. For vegetarians, look out for the Hella Green, which is served all day. It is filled with a deep-fried tofu cutlet that’s mixed with mashed beancurd, carrots, corn and other veggies. It’s also served with teppan-grilled eggplant, avocado and chickpeas salad, baby spinach and Russian-style mayonnaise.
Aside from its signature teppanyaki sandwiches, HAND3AG also offers a variety of delicious homemade snacks, including the Triple Cooked Hand-Cut Fries. These are made with Agria potatoes, specially selected for their fluffy texture. They are prepared with a rigorous process that takes three days and nights to create a shatteringly crisp exterior that is pillowy soft within. These fries are served with homemade tomato sauce, truffle mayonnaise or special black-garlic sauce for a spud-tacular treat.
HAND3AG also serves up light foods such as soups, salads, French toasts and cakes. Guests can also enjoy a variety of drinks, from teas and soft drinks to smoothies and craft beers. Also not to be missed the Fresh ground coffee. HAND3AG uses Brown Hills, a local roaster of Orli Coffeeworks who is the first runner-up at the Australian International Coffee Awards 2019 under the Espresso Blend. This blend is made with beans from Ethiopia and Guatemala and is a medium roast with a smooth mouthfeel and taste of berries, plums and raisins.
