An innovative entertainment concept, developed specifically with the ‘new normal’ of socialising in mind, The Grounds at AIA Vitality Park (The Grounds) will open to the public in mid-November as the first recreational space in Hong Kong, purpose-built for the era of COVID-19. Located at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel and AIA Vitality Park, The Grounds is now the city’s ultimate socially distanced entertainment experience, created to give Hongkongers a space to play and be entertained safely.
Be entertained while being COVID-19 responsible
At the foundation of The Grounds are one hundred socially distanced private pods, each with seating for four or two persons. From within the pods, guests at The Grounds can comfortably and safely enjoy a unique outdoor experience in the heart of the city, with a diverse range of activities and interactive programming available from November into December. Featuring a giant LED screen and state-of-the-art sound system, weekly programming includes live music performances, wellness activities, stand-up comedy, an outdoor cinema and family-friendly games. The Grounds will host a weekly schedule of responsible, socially distant events with tickets available for purchase starting today online. Pods are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Supporting Hong Kong’s hospitality industry in an innovative yet safe environment
Through engaging partnerships with key stakeholders in Hong Kong’s entertainment, wellness, culture and F&B sectors, The Grounds is helping to bolster the local hospitality industry by providing a range of elevated experiences that include consumer activations and culinary offerings by Hong Kong’s best-loved restaurants. Penfolds Max’s, the official wine partner of The Grounds, will offer its signature range of red and white varietals to guests alongside other notable wines from the Penfolds and Treasury Wine Estates portfolio.
“We want to give Hong Kong something new to look forward to, while at the same time creating an opportunity for the local entertainment and hospitality industries to engage with audiences in an innovative, comfortable and safe environment,” said Simon Wilson, Managing Director at The Grounds. “As we navigate this new global normal, The Grounds is designed to allow guests to play, socialise and be entertained responsibly.”
Adapting to the new normal of socialising
Prioritising the health and wellbeing of both guests and staff, The Grounds will implement stringent hygiene protocols and safety practices to ensure visitors feel safe at all times and are in compliance with current government COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. In addition to temperature checks and mandatory face masks throughout the venue, safety measures also include pre-registration and health declarations, hand sanitisers at each entry and exit point, contactless ordering, socially distanced pods and extensive cleaning in between activity sessions.
