Wander and Travel to….SOHO East and The Blind Pig

Shore Hospitality brings to you a Sports Pub this coming April, The Blind Pig, emphasizes an inviting casual drinking environment making guests feel transported into the prohibition era.

This neighborhood ‘speakeasy’ is located at 45 Tai Hong St on the Lei King Wan waterfront of Sai Wan Ho. “It is destined to become a neighborhood favourite as the first sports pub in the district,” said Shore Hospitality CEO & founder Mark Cholewka.

The Blind Pig’s décor and signature cocktails transport guests back in time to America’s notorious Prohibition era, hence the name The Blind Pig. During the US prohibition days, the name is often associated with an illicit liquor shop, drinking club, or speakeasy. The operator of such establishments would charge customers to see an attraction (such as an animal – PIG) and then serve a “complimentary” alcoholic beverage, thus circumventing the law.

The place will celebrate with Pig Décor, with the modern flair of a sports pub. A mixture of high and low seating made with leather chesterfield and built to accommodate up to 50 people with a view of the screens from every corner. Televised sports and craft beers are complimented by classy pub grub inspired by the group’s popular sibling brand of whimsical pig-themed eateries The Salted Pig.

The menu centres around fresh and flavourful ingredients while incorporating The Salted Pig “farm-to-table” philosophy connecting people to a  new twist on Pub comfort food and hospitality. Food favourites from Grilled Angus Beef Burger, Big City Reds Beef Hot Dog, Classic Patty Melt that is “so good that you can finally see”, home-made pies, sausage rolls, fish & chips, pastas and pub snacks of Loaded Nachos, Frank’s Redhot Buffalo Wings and Jalapeno Poppers. And its signature ‘must try’ the Crispy Pork Knuckle Fingers with sweet and spicy dip.

A weekend and public holiday signature is their carvery with traditional ‘Weekend roast dinner’ ‘trimmings’ of Yorkshire pudding, mashed potato grazed carrot and sautéed vegetables.

Apart from handcrafted Prohibition cocktails, craft beers are on tap as well as bottled. “Comfort and good food vibes is The Blind Pig style,” said Mr. Cholewka.

As the flagship of a new brand, The Blind Pig joins a stable of innovative Shore Hospitality concepts in various tourist and neighborhoods district including five branches of The Salted Pig, and Cull ‘N Pistol.
